More than ten expatriates from the United States, Britain, India and some other countries gathered at the Water Street Bookstore in Jingjiang city for a reading activity to taste and comment on books together with Pang Yuliang, an essayist, a winner of the Lu Xun Literature Prize. Representatives of Jingjiang"s enthusiastic readers were invited to feel the charm of reading.

Pang Yuliang shared with everyone the background of the creation of "Little Mr." and the interesting events in his life during his time.

Chinese and foreign friends read and appreciated classic fragments of "Little Mr." together by exchanging reading experiences, and sharing their views on reading and life from different cultural perspectives so that they enhanced understanding and deepened friendship amid laughters.

“It"s our first time coming to Water Street, and today we saw a reading corner here. It"s also our first time bringing our mother and children here. We feel very happy and can"t wait to go back and read Mr. Pang"s works. This Sunday afternoon is very meaningful,” said JITENDRA KUMAR NAYAK from India.

“Culture needs to rely on integration for exchange and convergence. I hope that our Jingjiang culture and Chinese culture can be quickly transmitted. Through this exchange, the name of Jingjiang can be spread far and wide,” said Pang Yuliang, Essayist and Winner of Lu Xun Literature Prize.

In recent years, Jingjiang has successively invited foreign nationals to visit Jingjiang during public holidays, further enhancing international friends" awareness and understanding of Jingjiang, effectively promoting and showcasing its cultural heritage and urban charm, and also allowing them to integrate into Jingjiang.
